The Citadel of Marseille has reopened its doors after 360 years of closure
And will host the first edition of the Metropolitan Book Fair from October 25 to 27, 2024. This fair, open to all, will highlight cultural and literary diversity, with a special focus on Spain. The association Horizontes del Sur, active in promoting Spanish culture, will participate in this event.
The program includes conferences, debates, exhibitions, as well as artistic performances, including the world premiere of the new Corto Maltese album, The Lifeline, by Juan Díaz Canales and Rubén Pellejero. Young people will also have their own dedicated space, with creative activities such as the "Tales Village" and immersive performances like I’m Mapping, combining literature and technology.
The fair aims to become an international literary event while remaining locally rooted, offering activities that are free of charge, though some will require prior reservation.
